IFixit's teardown coverage of the Google Pixel 4 XL suggests that it has "pitiful but strong" adhesive to hold the back glass panel.
The back panel also includes a wireless charging coil and an NFC coil. Once the panel is removed, there are Torex screws covering the battery connector.
Like the Google Pixel 3 XL, the Pixel 4 XL has its own battery pack with a sufficient amount of adhesive. However, it is easy to remove the battery after detecting glues.
A delicate active edge flex cable is also available below that may accidentally slow down when removing the battery.
In addition, the Pixel 4's battery capacity has been found to be slightly lower with the iPhone 11 Pro Max available on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and the 14.24Wh cell with a 15.04Wh cell powering the 16.56Wh cell.
Google has given Pixel Neural Core chip in Pixel 4 phones. The iFixit team did not find a dedicated chip on the motherboard.
Nevertheless, it is assumed that RAM on the Pixel 4 XL may include a Pixel Neural Core chip. The handset also features a Pixel H1C2M3 Titan M security chip to add additional user security.
Tear coverage also noted that the Pixel 4 XL's biometric hardware includes two separate Near Infrared (NIR) cameras, an NIR Flood Emitter and a NIR Dot Projector. All this is available next to the 8-megapixel selfie camera.
At the front, the Pixel 4 XL also features an earpiece speaker which includes a Soli chip with microphone and ambient light sensor. The soli chip comes in a rectangular form with no moving parts.
"While radar technology has been in use for a long time and seems fairly simple on paper, we're at a loss as to how Google filled the entire system into a small featureless rectangle without any moving parts," The iFixit team noted its turbulence coverage.
